Sculptor, John Perry has for the past 25 years created
original and unique animal art, and it is his attention
to detail and flawless production methods that have propelled
him to the forefront of the collectible sculptures market.
By applying the latest in molding techniques, Perry is able
to reproduce each piece as an almost perfect copy of the
original. This process allows him to devote greater time
to the creation of new pieces that seem alive and in motion,
and yet they display purity of line and true sculptural form.
The material used for the molds is one of Perry's own design,
a resin compound called Pellucida™, that can be presented in
a variety of colors and textures. Most Perry sculptures are
mounted on manzanita burlwood, which is the root burl of the
manzanita bush. This wood was considered useless in the past,
and was commonly used for firewood, but because of Perry's
unique usage of it in his sculptures, many artists and art
lovers have come to appreciate this burlwood for its
inherent natural beauty.
